OpenScape UC Application Enterprise
Access modular unified communications and collaboration functionality to match the diverse needs of your users
The Enterprise edition of OpenScape UC Application provides key unified communications and collaboration functionality, including rich presence, team collaboration, mobile workforce enablement and business process integration. It comes in three flavors:
- Essential is designed for individuals who need to stay connected and have access to all messages while away from the office and from any media.
- Professional is for individuals who are mobile and must to be responsive. These users need to have control over all their communications and be able to have access to the right people quickly in order to achieve first contact resolution.
- Team is for mobile and collaborative individuals who need to be accessible at all times. These users typically work in a distributed organization, in multiple time-zones and within multiple teams. Timeliness and speed is a critical factor in their communications. This offering is also ideal for administrators as they often are the ones to facilitate team productivity of executives and other groups, and timely output is also critical.
Key capabilities include:
- Presence lets users view the availability and status of their contacts, enabling them to choose the best method and time to communicate effectively on the first attempt.
- Multimedia collaboration enables users to initiate planned or spontaneous collaboration sessions, including voice, web, or video conferencing. By using presence information, employees can instantly see whether a colleague is available, allowing spontaneous conference sessions and a fast and convenient way to collaborate in real-time. This also reduces unnecessary spending on business travel and third-party conferencing.
- Mobility features help highly-mobile employees stay connected and productive at the least possible cost. One Number Service and Device Handover, for example, allows users to be reached on the lowest cost network, anywhere, anytime, and on the device of their choice. The OpenScape Mobile Client provides additional convenience to mobile workers who wish to use their mobile device to access and manage OpenScape Enterprise while away from their PC.
- Communications Embedded Business Processes (CEBP): OpenScape UC Application Enterprise can also be integrated into business applications. This increases organizational efficiency and employee productivity, by making communications accessible from within the application. It displays presence information for key subject matter experts within the context of the workflow, allowing users to see which colleagues are available to support an immediate business task and eliminating the need to search directories or toggle between applications. In this way, connecting with the right people at the right time is only a click away, saving time and enabling you to execute business more quickly and efficiently.

OpenScape Branch
Enjoy resilient connectivity at your remote offices with our intelligent branch solutions
Your remote offices and branches need to have access to communications at all time. To this end we have developed a range of software-based solutions for both service providers and cost-conscious enterprises with multiple branch offices.
Whether you are an enterprise with a simple or sophisticated network, or a cloud-based service provider, we have an intelligent branch solution that can meet your needs. OpenScape Branch runs on commercially available servers and contains a wealth of features including:
SIP Proxy
Survivability features (local call control)
SBC (Session Border Controller)
Firewalls
Media server
One of the many advantages of OpenScape Branch is that it provides SIP trunking directly from the branch. This removes the need to transport all voice traffic destined for the PSTN back to the data center and provides network redundancy.
Another major advantage is the built-in Media Server, which dramatically reduces the bandwidth requirements to the branch, saving networking costs every month, and providing local tones, announcements and conferencing facilities even in the event of WAN failure.
We have developed OpenScape Branch systems for up to 50, 250, 1,000 or 6,000 users and provide the ability to cluster them for scalability and local redundancy. There are two main configurations of OpenScape Branch available, either in-network (for use in your own trusted IP network) or out-of-network (for use over an open IP connection, for example in cloud, service provider, franchises and for the Internet and non-trusted WAN networks).
Key functionality
- Local survivability features (local call-control)
- Includes SIP firewalls
- Call admission control (ensures adequate bandwidth for high-quality voice)
- Includes media server for local tones, announcements and conferencing, to save WAN bandwidth
- Provides local backup for WAN failure
- Switches back to primary proxy to allow for continued survivability
- Provides secure SIP trunks directly from the Branch, which is essential for Large Branches (with dozens to thousands of users)
- Handles unified communications (UC), voice and video
- Includes optional redundancy
- Supports external Gateways to PSTN, if required

Enterasys Security Information & Event Manager
Secure, Policy-based NAC
Compliance through Security Information and Event Management, Log Management, and Network Behavioral Analysis
The Enterasys Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM) product (also known as DSCC) combines best-in-class detection methodologies with behavioral analysis and information from third party vulnerability assessment tools to provide the industry’s most intelligent security management solution. Enterasys SIEM delivers actionable information to effectively manage the security posture for organizations of all sizes.
The challenge created by most threat detection systems is the volume of information they generate — making it difficult to determine which vulnerabilities require an immediate, high priority response. The Enterasys SIEM solution addresses this challenge and provides powerful tools that enable the security operations team to proactively manage complex IT security infrastructures.
Enterasys Security Information and Event Manager:
Goes beyond traditional security information and event managers and network behavioral analysis products to deliver threat management, log management, compliance reporting, and increased operational efficiency
Collects and combines network activity data, security events, logs, vulnerability data, and external threat data into a powerful management dashboard that intelligently correlates, normalizes, and prioritizes—greatly improving remediation and response times, and greatly enhancing the effectiveness of IT staff
Baselines normal network behavior by collecting, analyzing, and aggregating network flows from a broad range of networking and security appliances including JFlow, NetFlow, and SFlow records. It then discerns network traffic patterns that deviate from this norm, flagging potential attacks or vulnerabilities—anomalous behavior is captured and reported for correlation and remediation
Tracks extensive logging and trend information, and generates a broad range of reports for network security, network optimization, and regulatory compliance purposes; report templates are provided for COBIT, GLB, HIPAA, PCI, and Sarbanes Oxley
The Enterasys SIEM solution portfolio is appliance based for quick and easy setup. Available hardware components include:
SIEM Appliance
Event Processor
Flow Anomaly Processor
Behavioral Flow Sensors

Enterasys Network Access Control
Secure, Policy-based NAC
Enterasys Network Access Control (NAC) is a complete standards-based, multi-vendor interoperable pre-connect and post-connect Network Access Control solution. Using Enterasys NAC Inline Controller and/or NAC Out-of-Band Gateway appliances with Enterasys NMS NAC Manager configuration and reporting software, IT administrators can deploy a leading-edge NAC solution to ensure only the right users have access to the right information from the right place at the right time.
Existing investments are protected since no new switching hardware needs to be deployed, and no agent needs to be installed on all of your computers. The Enterasys NAC solution performs multi-user, multi-method authentication, vulnerability assessment and assisted remediation. You have the flexibility of choosing whether or not to restrict access for guests/contractors to public Internet services only—and how to handle authenticated internal users/devices that do not pass the security posture assessment.
The Enterasys NAC advantage is business-oriented granular visibility and control over individual users and applications. Enterasys NAC policies permit, deny, prioritize, rate-limit, tag, re-direct and audit network traffic based on user identity, time and location, device type and other environmental variables. Enterasys NAC supports RFC 3580 port and VLAN-based quarantine for Enterasys and third-party switches, plus more powerful Secure Networks™ isolation policies (which prevent compromised endpoints from launching attacks while in the quarantine state) on Enterasys switches.
